Gabba Gabba HOPS!

As bright and bold as a beach day in Cali.

California Dreaming

What we love most about the IPA is all of its weird offshoots, but what in the Beverly Hills is a California IPA?

It's definitely not in the BJCP or BA guidelines (yet). It's new, there's only a few breweries making them, and there's no reliable definition of what it is and isn't.

It might be the next big style in craft beer, or it might be a short lived fad, and that's part of the appeal.

Have a taste of the California sunshine and find out.

EAST MEETS WEST

Simply put, a California IPA combines the best bits of the West Coast and Hazy styles. It’s got the fruity hop aroma and flavour of a hazy, but it’s clear, and with less sweetness and a satisfying bitterness.

And what better way to describe this East and West Coast mashup than the Ramones' classic cover of the Riverias' California Sun - NY attitude meets CA vibes. You're welcome.

Tasting Notes…

You know your favourite parts of old school West Coast IPAs and hazies?  This tastes like those, smashed together.  Hopped with Citra and Azacca for stonefruit aroma and flavour (heavy on the mango), and an unexpected German twist with Perle for earthy undertones. Malt, wheat and oats give a classic clear appearance and a satisfying body and mouthfeel.

Enjoy.
